The holidays sneak up fast, and by the time most people start thinking about their office party or family gathering, the good caterers are already booking into December. We cater events of any size, from a small office lunch to a full family reunion, and the earlier you reach out, the more flexibility we have on dates.
It happens every year: the first cold snap hits, somebody in the office asks about the holiday party, and suddenly everyone remembers that the good dates fill up fast. BBQ King has been catering events around Lincolnton for a long time, and the pattern never changes, November and December are our busiest stretch on the calendar, right alongside the graduation and summer reunion seasons. If you've got a date circled, even a rough one, that's enough to start the conversation.
Whatever the occasion, the same pit-smoked BBQ we've served since 1971 is what shows up on your table: pork shoulders smoked fresh over hickory coals, hand-pattied burgers, and hand-breaded onion rings, the same food you'd get if you walked up to our counter in Lincolnton. There's no separate "catering menu" cooked a different way in a different kitchen. It's the same pit, the same fire, the same cleavers on the same cutting boards that our team uses every single day for the walk-up counter. A tray of chopped BBQ headed to your office holiday lunch was hand-chopped the same morning as the plate served to the next customer in line at the restaurant.

That matters more than it might sound like at first. A lot of catering operations exist purely to cater, big kitchens built around volume and speed, with the food designed to travel and reheat rather than to actually taste like something. That's never been how BBQ King works. We're a family-run counter-service restaurant first, and catering is an extension of that same operation, not a separate business wearing the same name. When your holiday party gets our pork shoulders, they were smoked low and slow over live hickory wood coals the same way Steve Abernethy started doing it on a farm near Startown Road before the restaurant existed.
Package sizes and pricing are worked out directly with our team so we can tailor it to your headcount and event. There's no one-size-fits-all menu we push on everybody, we talk through your guest count, your setting (office break room, church fellowship hall, somebody's living room), and what you actually want on the table, and build the order from there. A family pack of chopped BBQ with slaw and buns covers a smaller gathering without much fuss.

The easiest way to get started is to call us at (704) 735-1112 or fill out the catering quote form on our website, and we'll follow up with the details. Whether it's twenty people in a conference room or a full extended family showing up for the holidays, the goal on our end is the same one we've had since 1971: get real, fresh, hand-prepared barbecue in front of people and let them feel like part of the family for an afternoon, wherever that afternoon happens to be.
